Last week, Panasonic announced the second generation version S1rii of its high-resolution camera. While the original model was mainly focused on the stills, S1rii is being billed as a hybrid camera with the ability to shoot an 8K video.
The video chops are possible because Panasonic is using a new 44MP sensor, with a slightly less resolution than the 47MP model found in the S1R. Thankfully, we got a chance to shoot some early samples in Japan to cover CP+, and we have put a sample gallery together. It also includes some examples of camera handheld multi-shot mode, which produces 177MP images.
We will shoot a lot with S1rii in the coming weeks, so stay.
