What we are calling Apple’s first foldable smartphone iPhone Fold For the sake of simplicity, it was long rumored that it would finally launch next year. However, now a new report from Korea claims that it may actually only arrive in 2027.
Alternatively, if Apple succeeds in launching it in 2026, only 5-7 million units will be produced next year. The possible delay is said to be due to the time taken to decide on all the specifications, including, very importantly, the hinge.
A recent rumor claimed Hinge will be much cheaper than originally estimatedBy the way. At the rate production preparations are going, Apple will not be able to sell the 10-15 million units it wants next year.
The iPhone Fold is said to have a 7.58″ folding screen and a 5.38″ cover display. Both of these will use LTPO technology as well as CoE which eliminates polarization.
