Remove tough scratches from the wall

If you notice that your walls are covered with dark and unpleasant wall grime, it is time to remove them forever without repainting them. Rhonda Wilson, a quality lead cleaner at Freshspace Cleaning, recommends wetting a microfiber cloth and gently rubbing it over the stain.

For any stained spots, Wilson suggests adding a drop of dish soap or baking soda to your cloth, so it will effectively remove it without damaging the paint.

clean stainless steel tools

According to Ivanova, if you’re an avid cook and use stainless steel appliances most of the time, consider using a microfiber cloth to keep them fingerprint-free. Ivanova says to use a mixture of water and a few drops of vinegar to wipe down appliances so they shine without streaks.

pick up pet hair

No one wants to deal with pet hair on their floors 24 hours a day, especially during the holidays when you have guests. Ivanova says if you’ve tried vacuuming multiple times and haven’t had much success, consider wetting a microfiber cloth, which will more effectively pick up any hair from upholstery and carpet.

“Pet owners appreciate this quick and chemical-free solution,” explains Ivanova.

polish wood furniture

Ivanova suggests keeping your wood furniture in top shape by applying some natural oil, like lemon oil, to your microfiber cloth to polish the surfaces.

“I polish the surfaces with a cloth, bringing out the wood’s natural shine and protecting it from wear,” says Ivanova.

Connect with a Swiffer

If you’re trying to use the Swiffer and realize you’ve run out of attachable pads, don’t fret and use a microfiber cloth instead. Wilson recommends wrapping it around the mop head and pressing it into its gears. The best part? After you’re done cleaning, you can wash it and use it again.

“Use it dry for dusting or wet for mopping,” says Wilson. “It’s also eco-friendly and budget-friendly.”

hold crumbs in a drawer

Those dangerous crumbs left in the corners of your drawers can be challenging to get out over time. Wilson suggests using a dry microfiber cloth to get into those tight spots and clean them quickly.
