Yuki Sunoda Has been struggling since his promotion Red bull racingJust nine points have been raised since step-up. Japanese driver is now under pressure, and Helmut Marco has named Mexican Grand Prix As a reference point in late October – which means the next three race weekends, according to goldsmiths, will be ‘important’.

He knows the main area of reform: the speed of the race. Tsaroda has progressed on Saturday and managed to reach Q3 in Monza – the red bull expects from him – but the situation seems much more worrying at a whole race distance. The picture is somewhat contrary to many Max VerustapanePrevious team companions: Sergio Perez The four -time struggle struggled on Saturday than the world champion, while the difference in the speed of the race (slightly) was smaller than a single flying lap.
“I need to focus longer, especially for a long time,” the red bull racer explained in Baku. “In Monza, I was a little harmful, but as a team we also work hard to understand what is the main issue, which causes long -lasting speed. The things we experience are things that the team can actually explain. This is the main thing.

“In the context of short runs, I am very happy with it. I think the team is very happy. It is clear that I am showing the race that I am getting closer to Max, even though there is a difference of package,” Tsunoda explains, referring to the fact that he had to drive with an old floor specification in most races. “In addition to Q3, I was in two consecutive tenth position from Max in qualifying. I think it is definitely showing well and people in the team are paying attention to it.”
Three tenth per lap in damage in Monza
Sunday, however, often tells a very different story, as was the case in Monza – where he finished behind eighty seconds behind the race winner Vastapane, containing damage.
“What I have heard was that the damage was less than three tenth, but as I said, we were struggling anyway. I was struggling with the things that the team could also explain, and we tried to resolve the issues,” Tsunoda said.
The issues forced Sunoda to experiment with the set-up, as much as he would like.
He said, “We had to fix things with balance that was not ideal because I was happy with the balance that we had,” he said. “But somehow the tires were wearing like crazy. Till FP3, the attempt we tried to find out what the tire was doing because of the wear issue, but we did not get it, so we had to simply adjust the balance. In a way I didn’t like it, and obviously it was just taking so much performance from the car.”
This immediately explains why Sunoda can still be appropriately competing in a lap – when he can completely exploit Pirelli tires – but there is a lot of difficulty in keeping the tires alive on a complete term.
“I am still lacking for a long time. We are really working hard, both from my side and from the team’s side to keep everything together for a long time. Probably there are some things that you can’t explain, but I try a lot of things to work and enjoy this process.”
