Wolf performed “the worst season” for Mercedes in Jeddah

“I was falling in a second lap in the last 15 laps, but to be fair, we did not just have speed and even if I managed more, I think I still came home in P5.

“We know that this is a weakness of our car at this time. And a bad day is coming home P5 – we will take it – but we need to improve and improve it quickly.”

Russell said the lack of performance was not due to the warm temperature on the track: “It is about how fast we are going from these corners, and whatever reason, we have produced higher temperatures than our rivals.

It comes after a positive start for the 2025 season for Russell, who claimed three podiums in the first four Grands Prix, including a runner-up Finnish in Bahrain in the last weekend.

He said, “We need to understand why Bahrain was so positive, because it is an overheating track, but there is a very different type of overheating for what you experience in Jeddah here.”

“We had high expectations for the race for Bahrain today, and it turned out to be contrast.”
