According to the technical documents of the FIA, the Miami package of the Red Bull includes the modified floor fence and the edges of the floor – in other words, contour flanges with the inlets of the tunnel and the outside of the floor. Both elements are logically tied to the overall floor design.
Why Red Bull believes that this floor update is “no risk”
The introduction of a floor update during the sprint weekend with only a free practice session seems risky, but the red bull sees it differently.
“We are trying to address two things,” Chief Engineer Paul Monaghan told outlets including autosport behind the Red Bull Pit box.
“That’s why we have brought it to the end of this week. Updates are relatively stable and include slight risk. It is a sprint weekend and it is a good opportunity for us to present it.”

“We are not worried that this will make the car aerodynamically unstable or anything like that. It will probably give us a little more downforce, and we expect to benefit from it.”
It is believed that the balance with RB21 has been a continuous issue, but Monaghan will not go saying that it has been a major focus of development of the team.
“(Balance) is one of things,” he said. “If you think of complaints after Bahrain, we are able to address some of them.
“Are we able to correct everything? Perhaps not. Are we continue to work on it? Yes. There is no easy improvement for these issues – it is about slowly step by step.
“We know what went wrong, although finding a solution is never simple. Perhaps these problems will never be completely away, but can we reduce their effects – even on the time of the lap?
“A lot of people in Milton Keins are working incredibly on it. Step by step, it will be better.”
Red Bull confirmed that at the end of this week only Max Vastapane has access to the updated floor. Yuki Tsunoda still has to do with an old specification and is expected to get a new version in Emola.
New Mercedes engine used for red bull
After Friday’s on-track action, Helmut Marco told the autosport that the initial signs about the new floor are positive. According to him, the new design reduces the undersire-although it remains a degree, which gives a weak place to slow and medium-motion corners.
Monaghan laughed and said whether this is really the issue: “Okay, in general, it is in corners!”
During the sprint qualifying in Miami, however, this was not the case. A part of it is capable of obtaining a little earlier on the throttle due to the antioneli and therefore due to a slightly better exit, but then the difference continues to grow – which comes down to pure speed, in which engine power is a major factor.
Explanation here is two times. Mercedes has set up a new power unit for this weekend, while Red Bull has returned to an old.
While the development of the engine is frozen, which means that the new unit of Mercedes is technically the same specification, a fresh can still provide a slight advantage because the lump sum display with accumulated use cycles declines. On the other hand, Red Bull, used a fresh power unit in Jeddah – a true power circuit – and according to sources within the team, is back into a used engine at the end of this week at Honda’s request.
This decision is nothing outside the normal: Drivers will have to complete the weather using the engine from a so -called pool, and the engine manufacturers decide which power unit (in terms of wear) is best suited for each track.
