When the couple sold their business, retired and moved from Texas to Virginia, to be close to the family, there was one thing they wanted to bring with them: their kitchen.
“He loved his kitchen in Texas,” says interior designer Theresa Doorline. “They had fulfilled a lot of updates in the kitchen, and they shared pictures of it with us. While this kitchen looks nothing like that kitchen, we were able to take a lot about it that they loved about it and gave them here.”
The new kitchen may look different, but it looks right at home in their 1915 house. Architectural details, feeling like a furniture and vintage-style opaque glass pendant gives a timely character to the cabinetry space that corresponds to the age of the house. At the same time, add modern suitability-like updated tools, a coffee bar and well-equipped cabinets-comfort and functionality.
