Outside Boston, the 1934 colonial had a vintage attraction in small black and white bathrooms, but it was reduced by the sophisticated retreat, imagined by the owners of the new home. Single Pedestal Sink did not offer any storage or counter space, and the aging shower-tub combo did not meet the couple’s needs. There was also a lack of functional storage in the nearby walk-in closet in the bedroom.
To create a more spacious and practical layout, the couple hired designed-bed professionals Jason and Megan Hoffman. Jason suggested pushing the wall shared by the bathroom and closet to get valuable square footage into the bedroom. The rem A thoughtful mixture of white, black and wood finishes with a clean-intelligent midntry touch brings modern style to this fresh and highly functional location.

First: The 40-class bathroom had attraction for its pedestal sink and classic black-and-white Tiles, but it lacked storage and counter space, which was required to the young couple in their primary suit. The aging shower-tub combo added to the challenges. “They have a tub in another bathroom, so that the need for the tub of the house is met,” Jason says. “There is no tuber here, there was no opportunity to maximize the layout.”
Two existing windows-one next to the toilet and the second shower-tubs were in the right shape, so the owners of the house opted to keep them.
The wall of a pony to the left adds a touch of privacy to the new two-tukde white toilets. A decorative walnut shelf above the toilet provides a warm accent. “We moved the new toilet up to 6 inches, so everything fits on that wall now,” Jason says.
The creamy white paint (white pigeon by benjamin Moore) covers the walls, ceilings, and trim, which creates a clean, warm background. Add the striking contrast across the matte black details.

First: Once on the left, a swing door was connected to the bedroom and bathroom. A dark colored bug was standing against the place of the wall between the bathroom door and its primary closet on the right side. The door to the right leads the second floor landing and ladder to the main level. The exposed metal ductwork that appears on the back left is from a pre -HVAC upgrade.
A new pocket door now connects the bedroom and bathroom. “It belonged to the location of the switch to customize the shape and space of the bathroom,” Jason says. The already exposed ductwork has also gone. “We were able to attach the required ductwork behind a wall in the new bathroom and added the valuable Linen Cabinet,” Megan.
