Vance called to cut interest rates for Trump’s Fed Powell: ‘Monetary Mobile’


Vice President JD Vance echoed President on Wednesday Donald Trump’s Calls to cut interest rates for Federal Reserve.

Vance wrote in a post on X, “The President has been saying this for some time, but it is even more clear: refusal to cut rates by Fed is monetary misconduct.”

Trump repeated his former call on Wednesday US Central Bank Cut interest rates from a full point.

“CPI is out now. The great number! Fed must reduce a full point. Due to coming on debt, it will pay very low interest. So important !!!” Trump has written in a post on Truth Social.

Inflation increased slightly on an annual basis in May

Both posts came after the bureau of labor statistics released the latest consumer price index data on Wednesday morning, showing that there was cooler compared to inflation analysts in May.

The CPI rose 0.1% in May in May as compared to the East month, while it was 2.4% on an annual basis. Those figures were slightly cooled compared to the estimates of economists voted by LSEG, while the annual CPI stood by 2.3% a month earlier.

The so -called core prices, which exclude more volatile measurements of gasoline and food to better assess the price increase trends, were below an estimate of 0.3% and 2.9% of both economists respectively and 2.8% on an annual basis.

Trump posted those comments after the release of Labor Department Employment report, Which showed that the US economy added 139,000 jobs a month. The figure was stronger than the estimated economists voted by LSEG, with 130,000 jobs, but cooler compared to the revised increase of 147,000 jobs added in April.
