The invitation to Alesendro Mitchell’s Valentino show was a package of Glow-in-Dark Fireflies, which was used for fishing. It was the Appropos the Manifesto written by the designer, which was about a letter written by Italian director Pear Paolo Pastolini in 1941, when he was still a student, on the subject of firefly. According to Mitchell’s interpretation, for Pastolini, the shining insects “represented very elusive glimpses to avoid the darkness of ruling fascism.”
Enough designers have not wrestled with the desperate situation of things this season. It is not safe to rub wings in any direction, there is no doubt. The problem with this approach is that fashion risk appears exiting the touch. The world is on the verge and we are considering Hemline? Mitchell is one of the fireflies, or at least looks at himself in this way, and so he shared his opinion – not only in printed, as he usually does, but through a spoken word performance by Pamela Anderson at the beginning of the show. “In this very dark moment we don’t have to close the light,” he said, put it clearly during a meeting in its place Vandomi office.
Fireflies like butterflies, is a Chrisalis stage, and you can say that Mitchell has emerged from the same. “Maybe when I came in the beginning, I threw myself into this big thing,” he said. “Now it’s as if I am choosing.” Mitchell still loves a sequin for the evening, but his most inspiring gown was not one. They came in solid colored in sapphire blue or ruby red, with an asymmetric draping, or details with a sheer train in black and white tuxido. The show ended with models gathered at the center of Square Space, staring at a light show, one of the most memorable and moving scenes of the week. Mitchell said, “This is the time to push more and more,” people to dream, not only reality, but from the idea that you cannot do anything. ,
