The 295-class meter (3,175-class-foot) house is set less on a sloping site compared to the road, in which the eastern mask is unclear by topography. The light-tonding seam is above the metal roof horizon.

The oversized roof reflects an adjacent courtyard, hidden from the scene by a slat screen.
The team said, “Negative location enables additional light to clearly filter the central components of the program.”
The house is worn in soft gray vertical boards that expand from the floor to the roof differently. This monochromatic palette gives a focal point to the silhouette of the house.
The deep overhang molds east and west glazing, reduced solar gains in summer and allowed sun in shallow scheme in winter.
The team said, “The literal and metaphor of both the Ridge House Architecture and the program puts landforms and nature,” said, the team said, taking into account the customer’s interest in creating a quiet place, which stains the line between the outside and the inside.
“Not only we designed with the land, we also found imaginative ways to bring it in and connect the internal experience to the rhythm of nature.”
The entrance is marked by a small porch in the center of the eastern part of the rectangular scheme.
Entering the public core, the kitchen, food, and the living room form an open communal place in the middle of the house, burnt by a skylight that spread the sunlight under the influence of the angular roof and the surrounding walls under the influence of an sun, the team explained.

On the north side, the primary suite runs the width of the house, in which the bedroom faces west side of the property and opens the bathroom in the courtyard.
On the edge of the plan, a two-car garage and a linear home gym sit in the courtyard.
At the southern end of the house, two secondary bedrooms and a media room form an L-shaped with the south-west corner of the house, which was removed to create a cover courtyard with a volted plywood roof.
The team said, “Inactive-first strategies with outdoor and four-season intimacy are designed to prefer, ridge house is open to both and is protected from elements based on its seating,” the team said.
In the living and dining room, the wall of windows opens in the doors to allow the prevailing breeze to ventilate the house and reduce the need for air conditioning. Meanwhile, high-defense-in-floor heating runs under communal places for targeted and effective temperature control.
An energy-richer ventilator mechanical system balances fresh air and thermal comfort, while Antario’s clean energy-attached to the clean energy grid of Ontario reduces carbon consumption for heat pump heating and cooling.
