“FreshRealm’s food safety program has individually detected Listeria in quick-frozen (IQF) spinach that it uses in prepared meals supplied by Snow Pack Foods of Minnesota. FreshRealm proactively conducted whole genome sequencing of spinach ingredient samples and the Listeria strain does not match the outbreak first reported in June,” A spokesperson for FreshRealm, HelloFresh’s third-party supplier, told Fox Business.
“Neither FreshRealm nor its customers are aware of any foodborne illness associated with this spinach ingredient,” the spokesperson said.
The spokesperson said the findings were “promptly managed” under food safety and recall measures, and the appropriate agencies were notified of the issue.
“Nothing is more important than the health and safety of our customers and our food safety program is designed to protect the quality of the food we produce,” a FreshRealm spokesperson said.

Individuals in those risk categories who experience flu-like symptoms within two months of consuming a potentially contaminated product are advised by FSIS to seek medical care.
According to FSIS, listeriosis can cause fever, muscle aches, headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance and cramps, sometimes preceded by gastrointestinal symptoms. If infected, pregnant women may face miscarriage, stillbirth, premature delivery or life-threatening infections in the newborn, the agency said. Listeriosis is treated with antibiotics.
