design Studio uchronia There has been a radical change in the dress of women boutique in coybird LondonMarylebone features a gradient color scheme and details including a giant planet sculpture and floors made of painted lava stone.
uchronia The store, as well as its in-house nutrition bar No 11, were designed with the aim of giving the interior an “eclectic” feel.
“The concept of the Coibird renovation was to create an immersive and dynamic space that blends fashion, wellness and food into one seamless sensory experience,” Julian Sebbon, founder of Ucrinia, told Dezeen.
“Our goal was to design a destination that embodies Coibird’s eclectic identity, merging discovery and innovation in every element.”
To do this, Uchronia used a bright palette of graduated colors, mixing green into pink and purple in the store’s main room, including psychedelic green and purple made from hand-painted lava stone. Floor tiles are also included.
“The color palette was inspired by Coibird’s iconic brand colors and the desire to create an atmospheric gradient that would guide customers through different sensory zones,” explained Sebban.
“We incorporated a spectrum from deep purple to vibrant green on the walls, creating a playful yet sophisticated ambiance that reflects the store’s versatile offerings.”
The renovation also includes a hidden back room, which is lined with Uchronia shiny silver tiles. Other intriguing details in the store include a shelf shaped like the letter K and amorphous furniture in silver and pink.
“Silver was chosen as the main accent because of its reflective, futuristic quality and symbolic resonance with the ethereal beauty of the coir,” Sebben said.
“The shine of the metal adds a sense of discovery and wonder, especially in the central silver planet and the hidden silver-tiled room, both of which create captivating focal points,” he said.
“The silver represents change, serving as a visual metaphor for the growth and versatility that defines Coibird’s identity.”
Uchronia created two striking silver sculptures for the store – a spaceship in the window and a large planet on the main floor – which were designed as “a nod to cosmic exploration”.
“The silver planet, which serves as the centerpiece for the store, was carefully designed to be both sculptural and functional,” Sebban said.
“Our goal was to create a central feature that felt like a work of art – a nod to cosmic exploration – while seamlessly integrating the performance of the clothing.”
The studio hopes the redesign will create an immersive experience and draw customers into the brand’s world.
“By combining contemporary design with artisan craftsmanship, we sought to create an inspiring environment where visitors are transported into the whimsical but luxurious world of Coibird,” Sebbon concludes.
“The result is a hybrid universe where form, function and aesthetic pleasure intersect, reinforcing Coibird’s bold, statement-making identity.”
