chairman Donald Trump And the Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnik on Sunday confirmed that if the countries do not attack the trade deal with the US by August 1, they would return to the prescribed levels in April.
Trump and Lutynik spoke with reporters before departing Bedminster, New Jersey On Sunday evening, when he was asked several questions about tariffs and business deals.
Trump told a reporter that his administration could send 12 to 15 letters to different countries on Monday, although some can go out late on Tuesday or Wednesday.
In the late social post late on Sunday night, Trump said that the letters will start coming out in the afternoon on Monday.

Trump wrote, “I am happy to announce that the United States tariff letters, and/or deals with various countries around the world will be started from 12:00 pm (Eastern), Monday, July 7.” Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
Earlier on Sunday, Trump also confirmed that his administration had made some business deals, so whatever can be sent is a combination of letters and business agreements.
Asked if the tariff rates would change on 9 July or 1 August, Trump said, “They are Going to tariffTariffs are going to be tariffs. ,
“I think we will have most countries till 9 July … either a letter or a deal,” he said.
Lutnik also said that the reporter said that the tariff would be effective on August 1, and Trump is currently determining the rates and making deals.

“The President is correct in discussing all kinds of deals with all types of countries,” said Lutnik. “And the gentleman is going to decide for my right, and when he makes this decision, I am going to live with him.”
Earlier in the day, Treasury Secretary Scott Besent told the host Shannon Breme of “Fox News Sunday” that many deals are in “Home Stretch”, and that the countries that were set in the countries in April will return to the level if the country does not deal with the US.

“Is it appropriate to say that some of these trading partners have a slight break on the July 9 deadline?” Breame asked.
“I don’t think it’s a little break because I think what has happened is a lot of crowd in the stretch of the house and, as a part of the trade team, what is great about being President Trump in our favor, he takes the maximum benefit,” said Besant.

He said, “By telling our business partners that they can return by the date of April 2, I think it is really going to move things with the next few days and weeks,” he said.
