It was the evening of September 1 in 2016, and my friends and I thought it was the perfect evening for the night above the head of the popular lion of Cape Town. The city center was kept correct, the panoramic view from the summit would not be doubtful, and our bags were filled with liquid nutrition when we reached the top. Two hours later, we reached the summit, and with the huge light of the city still shining through the wind under us, I spied the right photo opportunity. Therefore, I grabbed my small jobi trippai, put my phone on it, set the exposure for 15 seconds, its ISO at its lowest possible price, and waited. The resulting shot is one of my favorite I have ever captured. The phone was LG G4.
I have no doubt that we are looking back at this phone through rose-tinted glasses. After all, apathy is a hell of a drug. Best Android Phone Since then, a long way has come, almost every aspect has improved. I (probably) could capture the same shot without much nuisance with modern equipment. However, given its problems, the LG G4 was the phone that created my interest in photography.
Smartphone that captured many memories, and my heart
On the glasses front, G4 was really nothing special. Sure, it made it incredibly reliable and versatile by 16MP sensor and 28 mm lens, OIS system, and laser autofocus. I remember to shocking pictures, landscapes, macros and road scenes without any issue. But Camera phone The real strength was its manual mode.
The shot I mentioned in Intro was manually occupied. In fact, I had a real contempt for the automatic mode of LG G4. This regularly selected wrong settings and focused on the wrong subject. With manual mode, I can finely adjust the focus, choose my exposure and ISO, I can get the shot I wanted. Turning back, I realized that this phone helped me catch me after years with DSLR photography. And it was not just this shot that stands in my mind. The manual focus made it easy to catch the most small subjects, from bees to the flowers seen by them, from a glass drops on a glass of glass.
I have no doubt that we are looking back at this phone through rose-tinted glasses, but the LG G4 is the cause of my current love for photography.
Beyond its software, my love for this phone is in its smart ergonomic design. Yes, while it was very useful with those customer 2016-era bezels, the 5.5-inch QHD screen was deep and vivid, causing it to be the correct visual and canvas for my shots. While stylish, the winding leather back of the phone also made the phone frightened and inspired confidence when preparing a shot. It was never at risk of slipping out of my hand, as is prone to my Casleas Pixel 8. And, not to mention other aspects of this phone that I loved: Removable battery, its 3.5 mm headphone bundle earbuds with jack, its rear volume and power button, and its microSD card slot.
My G4 death and LG’s big problems begin
But, as soon as we eventually we had to make our way under the mountain, all good things were finished. For LG G4, it was for me at an airport just before a long flight house. The first time I first started it, after the first time, the tendency to overheat the phone’s tendency eventually turned into a flat-out bootup. Struggling to bring it back to life, I will wait for a few minutes, reboot it, use it strictly for a few moments until it becomes hot, then repeat the cycle. Thankfully, I printed back my boarding pass; Otherwise, I am uncertain how I would have navigated that situation.
My LG G4 issues started at an airport, just before a long flight house. I was not happy.
When I landed (and calling my lift was complicated thanks to my sick LG), I reached the drawing board and tried almost everything to revive it. Separating it and separating the phone from my motherboard, I trained a hairdryer on the chipset, thrown it into the freezer, and even considered it to cook in the oven. I walked out of the latter, but there was very little hope regardless regardless of it. My LG G4 was dead and so I was one of the most pleasant and memorable smartphones used ever.
For me, G4 issues completely surround the Korean brand smartphone tenure. Its bizarre tools were remarkably sociable, filled with personality, and supported by competent, if impressive, hardware and sophisticated software. But look slightly darker and use them for an extended period, and their equally bizarre defects will increase on the surface – dramatic high and disappointing climb.
The bootop problem remained in several LG-branded and manufactured smartphones, including the cousin of G4, V10, Nexus 5X, V20 and even LG G5. All these smartphones experienced the same bottleneck for one degree or another. While LG will go to launch several new phones that would skirt the issue, it was damaged.
While LG has not been a smartphone company since 2011, it will eventually shut down its update server later this month, making all its equipment maroon on old Android versions. It was bound to be at some point. Eventually, its most recent phones were launched five years ago. This is still a sad event.
For my LG G4, I have not seen it in years. It is sitting in a box somewhere in my parents’ house, functionally dead and likely to live in this way. However, my pleasure of photography has increased to include other equipment. My old but reliable Kodak KB10 film Camera, My Humble Nikon D3400, and even Nokia 9 Pureview, which I have written before continuing to build my love to capture moments. I have LG G4 for thanks for this.
