You take a close look at the build, and when it is plastic, it is not flashy. The lens has a metal mount and a rubber gasket, so it is weather-conscious, even if it is not completely meteorological. Some customs add flexibility using a program -able button and USB-C port tamrone software. Its 67 mm filter thread matches other tamon lenses, which cuts on gear clutter. The most standing standing is compact size, especially compared to heavy, full-metal Soni options. It makes a difference if you are shooting for a long time or balance your camera on a gimbal.
The acuteness at the center at 16 mm is solid, even open at F/2.8. But corners fall into both sharpness and vice versa until you are closed by f/3.5. At 30 mm, the lens performs better overall and also gives decent acuity in the frame on broad aperture. Deformation, however, is the place where things get messed up. You will see clear barrel deformation on 16 mm, which is accompanied by mustache effects that are difficult to cure clean -south. The autofocus system is another strong point. It is almost silent and nail eyes- and face-tracking. This makes a solid option for hybrid shooters. The lens also does well against the flare of natural light, although the spots in the corners appear under some light sources. For night scenes, it offers attractive starburst on f/11, which gives you a more creative option if you are in a landscape or city.
The bokeh is decent, especially 30 mm wide in the open. There is some bubble effects, but it avoids rigid or disturbing shapes. The focus breathing is minimal, which is a plus for the video. Close-up performance is not the strength of the lens, as the image becomes soft and contrast dips, especially near the minimum focus distance. But from a short distance, fast returns.
