For much of my life, mirrors only hung in one spot—above the bathroom sink—and I’ve only recently started to understand that I was missing out. Full-length mirrors are a low-lift way to brighten up a room and make it feel much more open—especially if you go for a much larger piece. And, with so many shapes, sizes, and frames to choose from, you can get creative.
My team and I tested more than a dozen mirrors of all shapes and sizes, including multiple full-length options. We found some favorites in multiple categories, including leaning and hanging styles.
-
Can lean or be mounted to wall
-
Arrives fully assembled and well-protected
-
High-quality, solid wood frame
-
Beautiful design
Mirror, mirror, on the wall–or leaning against the floor, like with this chic choice. From World Market, the Talia Arched Leaning Mirror earned high praise from us for its elegant contemporary design and durable construction.
We leaned it against the wall (and love how it looks), but it does come with hardware in case you want to mount it. A heads-up that it’s heavy and sturdy though, so once you pick a spot, you likely won’t want to move it.
What Our Tester Says
“The design is definitely my favorite feature of the mirror—it looks so high-end and expensive.”
We also love the mirror’s wood frame. And of course, as you can expect from all of our picks, the mirror itself is sharp and crystal clear, with no distortion or warping.
Really, there’s not much we’d change about this mirror, and we were even pleased by how it arrives well-packaged and ready to set up. We used glass cleaner and a paper towel to polish it up, but once it was in use, a weekly dusting was all it took to keep it in tip-top shape.
Measurements: 24 x 60 inches | Frame: Wood | Hardware included: Yes
We love the shape and size of this sleek leaning mirror; even in a small apartment, it provides a clear view of our whole body, head to toe. So, if you’re planning to use your mirror for daily fit checks, it’s a great choice.
We’re also pleased to see how securely it stays in place—not even footsteps or doors opening and closing made it move or reveal any warping.
What Our Tester Says
“This mirror is heavy and feels very high quality so I haven’t been worried about it falling or slipping. It feels very secure on its own and has not moved an inch since I’ve placed it in my room.”
The arched design and small legs add some subtle style to this mirror, too. If you’re used to basic rectangles on the back of your door, it’s definitely going to feel like a step up.
My team and I review products regularly for our jobs, so we’re used to picking out small details and quirks. In the case of this mirror, nothing really stood out as a downside. We could argue that you might be able to find a similar mirror for a lower price—but none have stood out to us just yet.
Measurements: 18 x 77 inches | Frame: Black wood | Hardware included: Yes (anti-tip)
-
No built-in kickstand
-
Slight gap at the bottom (when wall-mounted)
-
Smaller than expected, due to wavy shape
For a bit of artistic flair, we love this wavy mirror. The asymmetrical design adds personality, and the plush fabric frame brings a soft, stylish texture not found in any of our other picks.
The flat bottom is designed for leaning, or you can also mount it to the wall (which is what we did). We did notice the actual projection surface of the mirror feels a bit smaller than expected—technically, the listed dimensions are correct, but since the unique shape curves inward in some areas, there’s not as much surface area.
What Our Tester Says
“The quality is truly great on this, I feel like it’s very well made, aside from not having a kickstand.”
Hanging this mirror took some effort (we estimated it’s about 20 pounds), but that also speaks to its durability, so we’re not complaining too much. And of course, like all of our selections, there was no noticeable distortion in the reflection; color accuracy and clarity are solid.
We tested a version with a black frame, but notably there are seven colors available in total (and two sizes to pick from). I’m personally entranced by the light blue and tan options, but I don’t think you can go wrong with any of them. Also on the topic of the fabric, the entire back of this mirror is lined for protection—it looks really nice, too.
Measurements: 63 x 24 inches | Frame: Black flannel | Hardware included: Yes
I tested this full-length mirror, and I enjoyed it way more than I expected. I’m not great at taking outfit selfies, but somehow this mirror—with its versatile size and modern design with rounded corners—makes me want to.
It sits in my living room, so it reflects the light from the windows on the opposite side of the room and gives me and my family a spot to check our appearances before leaving the house. The wall we’ve leaned it against is just a few steps from our front door, adjacent to fairly high traffic area, so every member of my family (two adults and two kids) uses it.
What Our Tester Says
“I think the price is very fair for this mirror. If it was much lower, I would question the quality, as-is, it feels like a great value. It’s straightforward, functions as it should, and still feels a bit elevated because of the larger size, rounded corners, and black frame.”
Compared to the mirror that hangs on the back of our bathroom door, this one is both wider and taller. In fact, my spouse is seriously considering it for a coveted position by the spot where he works out in our garage—but personally, I like it in our living room!
It does come with hardware for mounting, but we’re still debating the exact spot where we want to position it, so we haven’t hung it yet. We’ve been perfectly fine with it leaning against the wall in the meantime. I will say, though, that a close look at the instructions and included hardware aren’t very clear or detailed. If you’re not super-experienced with this sort of project, you may want some help.
Measurements: 24 x 71 inches | Frame: Black metal | Hardware included: Yes
-
Easy to assemble with pre-drilled holes
-
2 position options (over the door, or mounted)
-
Spacious jewelry storage, interior LED lights
-
Mirror locks
When storage is a priority, this mirrored jewelry cabinet can help perform double-duty, while looking sleek and elegant.
Based on our experience, the mirror almost feels a bit secondary to the jewelry box features, but together they make a great package. There’s copious amounts of space for all kinds of jewelry, including plenty of hooks so necklaces and bracelets don’t tangle.
What our Tester Says
“The clasp does have a tight grip for the door so I don’t worry about the door coming open involuntarily…It really is a nice jewelry box!”
Out of the two hanging positions (over the door or on the wall), we chose the door option. It hangs flush against the door and doesn’t bang around when the door is opened or closed. That said, the hangers are flimsier than we’d like, and we compromise by holding the cabinet when we open the door for a bit of extra security.
The actual size of the mirror is smaller than the other options we recommend, so you will have less reflective surface to see and use. Still, it’s a slight concession for the extra storage space. And, like our best design pick, there are multiple colors to choose from.
Measurements: 14.6 x 47.2 inches | Frame: MDF | Hardware included: Yes
-
Can be mounted or leaned on stand
-
Simple and stylish design
-
Good value for shape and size
Another simple yet chic choice, we recommend this choice for households that want a basic but still attractive piece for a bedroom or living room.
The included kickstand means you can position it wherever you need to–or hang it with the included hardware. We had some concerns about stability during testing, so we caution users to be sure to hang it securely or use it in an area where it’s unlikely to be bumped by kids or pets.
What Our Tester Says
“I think it’s a really simple, stylish full-length mirror and to be honest, I don’t think I’d change anything, especially for the price!”
This is our only pick that, from a distance, has a tiny bit of distortion. It didn’t affect our overall positive opinion though, especially given the budget-friendly price tag.
By chance, my fellow tester was able to have her handyman help mount the mirror, and he noted that the included hardware was poor quality (he opted to use his own). So, we’d also caution buyers to maybe plan to add some extra hardware to ensure its security.
We tested the 21- by 64-inch rectangular option that has a slim gold frame, but note that there are other sizes and frame styles available, all with a modern aesthetic.

Final Verdict
The overall best full-length mirror is the World Market Talia Arched Leaning Mirror, which is versatile, high-quality, and beautiful in person. If you’re looking to spend a little less, my team and I also recommend the Xramfy Modern Framed Mirror. It’s chic and contemporary in design, and sturdy in its construction.
How We Tested the Full-Length Mirrors
My fellow testers and I brought these mirrors into our homes and used them daily for weeks, paying particular attention to key traits, and asking ourselves questions like:
- Framing: How well do you fit inside the frame of the mirror? How sturdy is the frame itself?
- Reflection Clarity: Is there any distortion to the reflected image from up close or when standing further away from the mirror?
- Stability: If standing, does the mirror feel secure on its legs? If mounted, does the mirror feel secure on the wall?
- Extra Features: If the mirror has built-in storage, how functional is it? Are there any other unique features of the mirror?
The Spruce
What to Look for in a Full-Length Mirror
Frame Style and Durability
To make sure your mirror blends seamlessly with the rest of your decor, we recommend considering the elements most predominant in your decor as you research full-length mirrors. Is your space a mix of natural materials? Are there clean lines and neutrals? Your answers here will help you narrow down your options.
Our picks are mainly comprised of metal and wood frames and even flannel, like what you’ll see with our best design pick. Metal tends to feel more industrial and contemporary, while wood leans toward classic, traditional styles–but there’s some crossover room based on the thickness and shape of the frame, too.
Both metal and wood tend to be very durable, too. Solid wood construction, for example, will prove more durable than MDF, particleboard, or “engineered wood,” as it’s now often labeled.
Size and Shape
As it turns out, the term “full-length” is up for interpretation. My team here at The Spruce recommends looking for a mirror between 4 and 6 feet tall; however, taller individuals may want a mirror over 6 feet.
Usually, a full-length mirror of at least 48 inches tall works well in a bedroom or dressing room to help you get dressed in the morning. Looking for something for the living room? A tall and wide arched window-shaped floor mirror will bounce light around and create the illusion that your room has more windows than it does.
