People travel for all types of reasons – to eat in the best restaurants in the world, to increase the highest mountains, and to experience vibrant festivals. But according to a new study by travel planning website Trip.com, many people travel for a simple reason: Theme Park.
Trip.com recently released 2025 Global 100An annual list where it rank things like top hotel, attraction and restaurant on the entire planet. To determine its ranking, Trip.com combined through data such as verified user ratings, reviews and booking figures, as well as popularity, factors such as a destination’s reputation and quality of service.
But one of the most interesting (and perhaps amazing) things about the report is that the top global attractions dominate the theme parks.
There were six of the top 10 attractions included in the 2025 Global 100 rankings Theme parkLike destination Walt Disney World ResortUniversal Studio Japan, Shanghai Disney Resort, and Disneyland In California, Palace Museum in Beijing, Laver, La Sagarda Familia and Vatican got mixed up between heavy cultural institutions. According to Trip.com, these were the top 10 attractions in the world:

- Walt Disney World Resort
- The Palace Museum
- Disneyland Park California
- La Sagarda Familia
- Shanghai Disney Resort
- Universal orlando resort
- Vatican museum
- Universal studio japan
- Universal Beijing Resort
And, if you take one step back and forth and look at the top 30 of the list, there are three more theme parks (Disneyland Paris, Universal Studio HollywoodAnd Hong Kong Disneyland) in the mixture, for a grand total of 13.
For those wishing to add a visit to a theme park for their next international adventure work, there are only more options in the coming years.
