Today, I will talk about three major reasons that you want to consider Nikkor Z 28-135 mm F/4 PZ Power Zoom Lens.
So, the first questions will have to ask yourself while considering a lens like Nikon. Z 28-135 f/4 pz Are: “Why a power zoom? What is the use of a power zoom already in your kit on traditional holy trinity zooms?”
Simply put, a power zoom is only a type of lens where you can zoom in or out with a press press, as is contrary to manually expanding or contrarying the lens by twisting the barrel with your hand. Those of you who are there will be some ideas to remember the answer of the hands. You push and roll the togal to go tight or relaxed in the will.
Its clear advantage is speed and operation capacity. In many cases, you can shoot and zoom all with one hand, free you to operate in different ways. But what are the other benefits of such equipment? Okay, let’s take a look at some scenarios where a power zoom lens can be beneficial and see how Z 28-135 mm F/4 PZ is stacked.

Zooming mid-shot
By having a power zoom, you can zoom at a constant rate during a shot. True, you can also zoom mid-shot with a manual zoom, but by mixing PZ with a nicon body, you are able to determine the speed of the zoom that you are expecting to complete and repeat it on a constant basis.
There are many beauty reasons that you want to zoom to mid-shot. Perhaps you are making a project like Francis Ford Copla Conversation And you want to give your view a sense of monitoring. Maybe you are increasing the comedic effect by zoom unexpectedly during a scene. Personally, I rarely use the zoom mid-tech. But there are still other practical benefits that will provide such a lens.
Remote operations
Sometimes, even on the lower budget presentations, it is not uncommon for me to run several cameras simultaneously. Ideally, I will have many operators, but hey, sometimes the budget is not just. Nevertheless there are still practical reasons. I may need a scene covered with several angles simultaneously. Therefore, in addition to the cam I am working, I will often install distance cameras to catch alternative angles of a scene, with which I cannot be in physical contact. Often, these remote cameras are in difficult-to-wheat places, and walking back and forth between my setup proves to be a time-taking or completely impractical. Having a lens that you can zoom in or out without the need to physically bend, in the same way, opens the ability to adjust my focal length from a distance, just as you can adjust remote aperture or other settings through apps such as Snapbridge for remote camera control. Therefore, if, for example, I have a remote camera on a verge to achieve a dramatic angle, which is not practical for me to reach myself physically, then I can take the camera in position, then use the camera’s power zoom function to pursue my framing.

Combination with high-rage zoom
The advantage of PZ lens is multiplied with the ability to use high-resurrection zoom mode in high-ended nicon cameras. In this mode, it happens that the camera is zoom on or out on 8K/6K sensor while maintaining 4K resolution. Even it works with a certain focal length lens, but is combined with power zoom. The Z 28–135 mm F/4 pz works in a concert with a high-rage zoom, allowing you to zoom with the biggest and full resolution below the widest and full resolution on 4K resolution, which increases your zoom range. In my test (you can see the example in the video above), I was able to reach 270 mm on a full frame setting (more if you go into crop mode). And you do all this in the same shot without the need to adjust the settings in the same shot.
To make my life easier, I assigned two custom functions to zoom in or out on my Z9 front. In this way, I could control the zoom function from the camera body without touching the lens. It is important to note that you can also set zoom speed. In my case, to broaden the functionality, I set up the on-lens T/W switch quickly and set to zoom the on-body function button, both use the high-resolution zoom. Therefore, on my fingers, I was almost with better ergonomics of those tasks on the body, without diving into the menu. If you are shooting in a shoulder climbing ability with this lens and it can be paired with Nikon Handgrip, the speed benefit can be important in an ENG environment or a documentary landscape where speed is of great importance.
Ergonomics
From the perspective of ergonomics, I appreciate the large footprint of the lens. It balances the camera bodies of the cinema-style well on the large Nikon Mirrorless Kit. I can see many dock-centered red users making their Go-to lenses on new Komodo and raptor bodies with indigenous Z Mount. This creates a good everyday all-in-one lens that can be a real workheors in the region.
Low exterior moving parts also lead to less vulnerability for lenses. All important components are placed inside the casing, which reduces the possibility of obstructions affecting the mechanism when zoom. In addition, if you have pre-focus with the follow focus or other FIZ accessories of the lens, you will not need to compensate for the expansion of the barrel, which can save you time and increase productivity.
At f/4, this lens corresponds to the same type of zoom on the market. So, it is not a f/2.8 regular zoom or f/1.2 prime. If you want that kind of light collecting/shallow depth area depth, then you will need to add an additional lens to your kit. But F/4 PZ is quite versatile which is sufficient to catch most of the filmmaker’s needs on sets.
As you can expect, this lens balances better with a larger body like Z9 than a small body like Z9. But the lens comes with a convenient lens leg, allowing you to mount it through the foot, which also makes it for a well -balanced package with small bodies.
Filter size and lens hood
The larger 95 mm filter diameter makes a strong impression. Keep in mind that if most of your screw-in NDs are in the 82 mm range, as mine, you will need to detect a solution there. In my case, it meant that to mount a proper matte box with 4×6.5 NDS, break 15 mm rods. As I was just borrowing this lens, I did not want to invest in 95 mm screw-in NDS. And my normal quick-relief mats box was huge to connect directly to the barrel. So, 15 mm rods were a solution for my special position.
The included screw-on hood is an excellent design. It contains one of the quick-causing sliding doors that allow you to easily rotate variable ND or other filters quickly without the need to fight with the depth of the hood. I love it perfectly if the hood was an alternative version that allowed me to mount the 4×6.5 filter directly into the nicon-made hood, which was to keep me away from the need to attach a matte box. But it is a selfish request that I make my life easier. As, the involved hardware is well thought out, and the lens includes the ability to attach the rear filter between the lens and the camera body for additional options.

conclusion
So, is Nikon Z 28-135 mm PZ Lens right for you? Only you can ask to make sure. I think if you are a documentary or news shooter, it can be your go-lens on any nicon or red body. If you are a story filmmaker and want to take advantage of the ability of this lens to adjust from a distance, it will be a good fit for cases of specific use. It is not necessarily a lens designed to have a super small travel package. Rather, it is a serious tool for filmmakers that demands top optimal quality in a versatile workheors lens setup.
