Rumors that Taylor Swift is making a documentary about her record-breaking Eras Tour have been circulating for over a year — partly because many attendees, including myself, saw filming taking place during our Eras Tour dates.
On Monday, during an announcement on Good Morning America, we learned that the rumors are true. The six-part documentary series, titled The End of an Era, will be available on Disney Plus starting December 12, the day before Swift’s birthday. Additionally, the streaming service will also feature a concert film The Eras Tour: The Final Show, which is an updated version of the Eras Tour movie featuring, you guessed it, the final show that took place in Vancouver last December.
Swift’s fruitful partnership with Disney Plus began with a release during the pandemic long pond studio session – A reflection on the time of making the Folklore album with producers Jack Antonoff and Aaron Dessner, which included live performances. The two latest offerings will mark Swift’s third and fourth collaborations with the streaming service, which certainly earns her unofficial Disney princess status.

A perfect early Christmas gift for any Swiftie, The End of an Era is a six-part documentary series filmed during the tour, with a particular emphasis on the London show. The first two episodes will be available on Disney Plus on December 12. It is not yet clear when the other four episodes will be available – there may be a weekly release schedule or they may be dropped in batches.
I attended all but one of the Eraz Tour shows in London and I’m thrilled about this series. The trailer for The End of an Era features several key moments that I personally experienced, including appearances from Gracie Abrams, Ed Sheeran, Florence and the Machine, and the famous Travis Kelce cameo.
Each of these magical moments is etched in my memory, the Wembley Stadium crowd collectively realized that something different, special and amazing was happening each night. The trailer reveals that we’ll see how rehearsed these moments were, and sheds new light on the different ways Swift planned and prepared to delight us as her audience.
We’ll also get new insight into how Swift coped with the emotional intensity of the tour. In a clip included in the trailer, the star is taking a bath while tending to her cat Benjamin, and talks about how hard it is to wind down after a show. As she peels off her false eyelashes, she says she watched a lot of TV, ate room service food and signed a box of 2,000 CDs. “And then I’m tired,” she says. “And then we do the whole thing again.”
The Eras Tour: The Final Show
Over the course of two years, Swift performed the entire work again a total of 149 times, ending the tour in Vancouver, British Columbia on December 8, 2024. That show was very different from the one that debuted in March 2023 in Glendale, Arizona. It was also different from shows recorded and produced for Disney Plus. eraz tour film During Swift’s tenure in Los Angeles.
By the time the Erasure Tour reached Europe in May 2024, Swift had released a new album, The Tortured Poets Department, and rearranged the setlist to include a new segment based on the TTPD era. In December, this version of the show will be available as a stand-alone film for the first time.
The Eras Tour: The Final Show will feature the final concert of the tour, filmed in its entirety. It is directed by Glenn Weiss, a different director from the original Tour movie, and produced by Taylor Swift Productions in association with Silent House Productions.
This is the only version of the tour I’ve seen, so it would be worthwhile for me to see the record again. It will also be important to the many other Swifties who did not attend the Eras Tour with the original setlist. as with swift prestige travel movieI know I’ll be watching it for years to come to bring back memories of a special summer.
