Tamon’s versatile 18–300 mm f/3.5-6.3 DIII-A VC VXD All-in-One Zoom Lens is soon coming for APS-C Canon RF and Nikon Z Mirrorless cameras.
Temron Announced The lens will return to Canon and Nikon Mirrorless cameras in April, but today the company revealed that the 16.6x Zoom Lens would be launched on 26 September. Both new versions of the lens will be available for $ 629 in the United States and $ 849 in Canada.
In addition to the new Mount, the lens is largely unchanged with e and X-mount versions that were launched back in 2021. Petpixel‘S Review In the e-mount version that year, Ryan Mains described the lens as a versatile and well-worthy of buying. MENSE appreciated the lens, which appreciates the lens for the ability to catch “huge variety images”, while the photographers stood in one place.
“It smiles me every time when I create a wide shot at 18 mm, get a little more ready for a small shot, then I go to everyone at 300 mm and get something that looks completely different than the previous two images. Your creative field does not need to jump out of the area, and it is really enjoyable for me,” is written in 2021.
The same benefits for Canon and Nikon APS-C camera owners still remain in 2025, although the landscape has changed with the launch. Sigma 16-300 mm F/3.5-6.7 DC OS Lens earlier this year. This lens is $ 769 and is available for E, L, RF and X Mount – Not Z Mount.
Tamron says that 16.6 zoom range of 18–300 mm enables photographers to capture both wide-angle and telephoto photos without changing their lenses. On Nikon Z cameras, the lens offers a 35 mm-samily focal length range of 27–450 mm, while on Canon’s APS-C bodies, the boundary is 29–480 mm.
The lens has Tamone’s VXD linear autofocus motor and impressive VC optical image stabilization. The lens can focus as 0.15 m (5.9 in) and 300 mm at a wide end as 0.99 m (39 in), providing maximum magnification ratio of 1: 2 (detailed) and 1: 4 (telephoto).
While the dimensions of the lens vary slightly depending on the selected mount, it is about 125 millimeters (five inches) and weighs about 630 grams (slightly more than 22 ounces). It is worth noting that the RF version has AF/MF switch on the barrel, while Nikon Z photographers will need to swap between automatic and manual focus through their camera menu. In both cases, the lens facilitates a weather-resistant construction and accepts a 67 mm filter.
