T-Mobiles may soon start checking that all your devices are really on legitimate plans

As you know or not, every phone contains a unique 15-conductive number known as its International Mobile Equipment (IMEI). This number can be found in many places, such as Sim Trays, batteries, or even on the phone box. With this identifier, the network needs to know about your device, including the device type, brand, models and colors. At the top of revealing the identity of your device, IMEI can also be used to verify whether your device is compatible with the network and if it is authorized to use with that plan.

There is no information available when this audit starts, but it is said that it can happen soon. The outlet says that the rumor is pointing towards some time in Q2.
