5G standalone network allows customers to demand a customized network slice
The 5G SA network is built with a 5G core and designed for 5G connectivity, allowing it to deliver fast upload speeds, low latency, high reliability, and exclusive features. One of those features is the ability to provide wireless customers with their own, customized “slice” of the network. Known as network slicing, a wireless firm with 5G SA (e.g. AT&T) can create a virtual network that includes certain features that the customer wants.

Some customers want a guaranteed low latency level while allowing incredibly fast response times to input. It will be needed for remote surgery, self-driving vehicles, and real-time gaming. Some customers may demand a high level of reliability, while others may demand a minimum or fixed amount of upload and download bandwidth. This means that customers will experience consistent performance even during network congestion.
