Jultan Dollands is a tropical master plan Kota in Kinabalu, Malaysiadesigned by Snowheta To revive the city’s historic port region on Borneo Island. Vikas Kota introduces a new boat and cruise terminal near Kota Kinabalu International Airport, which establishes the district both as a transport hub and a civil destination. The project will be the entrance to Saba, which will implement the role of the city within the Southeast Asian Islands and strengthen its relationship for local culture and ecology.
The change of waterfront defines the urban edge of Kota Kinabalu. Once an industrial area, the region will now serve as a civil and cultural anchor, which will merge the flexible infrastructure with the island’s environmental identity. With Jultan Dollands Masterplan, Team Snowheta sets up a outline for tropical urban life that can affect future development in Malaysia. The transferred ferry terminal introduces a new cascading landscape that gradually descends into water, strengthening the city’s relationship to its sea shore. An internal marina further integrates aquatic elements, while water channels and stilted houses echo the traditional water villages of the region.
Residential and mixed-utilized towers make a horizon of Mount Mount Mount Kinbalu, which is a defined landmark visible from the site. The two gateway buildings mark the entrance of the project, which serves as a symbolic portal for Kota Kinabalu and nearby national parks.
