Suskechewan Rafarders dropped the Vinypeg Blue Bombers for a 34–30 win in Regina at Sunday’s Labor Day Classic.
The game was definitely up to its classic billing, but also looked like a labor of love, seeing all the madness. Through all twists and turns, it was riders who were able to do enough big plays to live above the water and leave the Mosaic Stadium with a big win.
Here are the rest of my views on a sport which referred to all arguments.
A rose by another name
When I was getting ready to analyze the game, I did not expect to lead with Trever Harris Pant, but could have anything on Labor Day. Suskechewan’s QB caught bombers with a pant on the third and six with a pant, which initially seemed that it was the last nail in the game. After the review, however, game-winning security turned into a drama-displayed rose. While the additional point was clearly important in victory, it also felt that it was the worst of the available options and he felt the most difficult for justification.

Pick Duice
Tevaghan Campbell saved Rider’s fans from a living football nightmare when he jumped under two-point converting attempts of Zach Collaros and took it length of the ground for two more points.
Campbell had a hard start for the season, but since burning on Opening Day, he has become one of the most important pieces of secondary in Suskechewan and is perfect fit with his ball-hooking style. Now, he has his signature Suscachewan moment in Labor Day Classic.
Sack collarose
Vinypeg’s “Zach Attack” turned into a “Zach Attack” on Labor Day, in which the riders were protected five times in the Vinypeg Pivot.
Malik Carney dominated quickly, he also picked up a pair of sacks to pull her with Isaac Edemy-Beglund for the lead in CFL with eight. When Suskechewan and Vennipag are faced, the discussion of the former riders quickly turns to the Zach Colroros, which is well, well worthy. But, for me, Nick Demsky is the player in the game who comes in the area “one who has gone away”. Dameski has disturbed his former team ever since he returned home in Manitoba in 2018. He has played his way as the most dangerous weapon of the bombers and has come up with many big plays in this competition to lead the game to achieve the game. He was one of the biggest reasons, Winpeg returned to another Labor Day Classic.
final thoughts
The game ended completely in anarchy, where it could have away from the riders several times. They needed a pant from their cuby, a blockage over the two-point conversion, and the recovery of a thunderous recovery on an inverted kick that did everything, but bounced into the hands of Vennepeg to seal the victory.
It would be easy to explain it as a game where the riders became lucky, but I believe that the better team won the game. If you play the game 10 times, the riders would win it more often, and it was probably the most strange way that could play it.
