George Russell Formula 1 was reprimanded by Steward for “Entry into Fast Lane” while qualifying for Austrian Grand Prix.
Mercedes A warning was issued to the driver after talking to Steward about the incident, which took place at the beginning of Q3 in Pitlen.
According to the FIA, Russell “tried to enter the fast lane on coming to other cars” and had to stay at an angle, which prevented him from going on the track.
In an attempt to give radio to the team, Russell accidentally slipped the clutch, causing the car to jump forward.
Mercedes admitted that the “managing the situation could do a better job” and the Brit was reprimanded.
“I saw that by pulling out some drivers, but then you have a big blind place,” Russell said. “You can’t get out of a window. You can see but you can only move your head so much. It is a large -scale blind place.”
