Rode unveils colorful next-generation version of the popular wireless Go Mic


Rode Unveiled the Next Generation Wireless Go (Gen 3), the latest version of what Rohde calls “the world’s most popular wireless microphone.”

As for its design, the Wireless Go (Gen 3) “marks the return of Rode’s unique wireless form factor,” featuring an integrated clip design that makes it easy to attach the mic to belts, collars, clothing, and cold shoe camera mounts. . At its core, the Wireless Go (Gen 3) is a dual-channel compact wireless microphone system. It features Rohde’s “state-of-the-art Series IV 2.4 GHz digital transmission” technology with 128-bit encryption, promising stable wireless audio recording at distances up to 260 meters (853 ft) with line of sight.

The integrated battery can record up to seven hours of audio per charge, and thanks to 32-bit float recording, it’s possible to recover clipped or excessively quiet audio files. The receiver has 32GB of onboard storage. There’s also intelligent GainAssist technology onboard to provide output gain control and safety channel recording. The safety channel is a second audio recording at a lower volume if the primary channel gets too hot. The system also supports headphone audio monitoring.

As Wilson indicated, the Wireless Go (Gen 3) comes in a mix of colors. In addition to the expected black and white colors, the latest wireless mic also comes in a range of new limited-edition colors, including red, orange, green, purple, pink, blue, cobalt, clay, lilac, stone, rose and moss . That’s a lot of color options.

Fourteen colorful RøDE wireless microphone systems are arranged on the dark marble surface. Colors include green, lemon, light green, blue, purple, dark purple, pink, black, brown, white, orange, red, dark red and orange-red.

Rode Wireless Go (Gen 3) is designed to work fast with connected cameras without any hassle. However, for those who need additional control, the Mic works with the Rode Central companion app, which allows users to configure all of the Mac’s settings and features.

Along with the launch of the latest Wireless Go, Rhode also announced a new dedicated charging and travel case, the Charge Case+. Designed for Wireless Go (Gen 3), this compact case protects and charges the mic system and provides two full recharges. Charge Case+ is available as an optional purchase.

Pricing and Availability

The Wireless Go (Gen 3) is available to order now for $299 and is expected to ship in early January. The limited-edition color versions are not yet available for purchase, and instead potential buyers are invited to join a waiting list. The new charging case is $79.
