Ricky Haton’s son Campbell Haton paid his heartfelt tribute after the devastating death of former world boxing champion on Sunday morning. Haton was found dead at his residence at the age of 46 years.
Hitman had tolerated several mental health conflicts during his career, yet preparing to return to the ring later this year. After his rise as one of the most beloved fighters in Britain, Honon faced Floid Mayweather and Manny Pacquoos, suffering from being defeated in both competitions.
In recent times, he had crossed his fight with depression and returned to the gym for coaches fighters. On Tuesday evening, Campbell turned to social media to share a deep personal tribute to his late father. “Heartbroken is not the word,” he wrote.
“Everyone has always said that I was double your double and never said a trunk word. See you in every aspect of life.
“It can’t explain that I am going to remember the laughter with me and all the good times that I will remember forever. Just can’t believe that we will not have anymore. Dad loves you.”
Words followed the statement of the Haton family on Monday due to the former boxer. “It is with the heaviest hearts that we announce the demise of our beloved son Richard,” the statement said.
“Richard was much higher than a world champion. He was just ‘Richard’, our son. A loving father, grandfather, and brother, and a true friend for many people. He was a big heart as his smile, and his mercy, humor and loyalty touched everyone who was lucky to know him.
“For the broad world, Richard will always be remembered as one of the biggest champions of boxing-a man who gave everything inside the ring and wore his heart on his sleeves outside him. He inspired generations with his love, his humility, and his love for the game.
“As a family, our disadvantage is immense, and words cannot really catch the pain we felt. In the midst of our grief, we are deeply out of the heavy outline of love and support. It has been a source of great comfort to see how many lives Richard touched, and how widely praised and respected.
“At this time, we please ask for privacy because we come with life without him. In the days and weeks, we will take strength from each other and from the knowledge that Richard’s legacy – both in boxing and as a man – Richard’s memory will always be in our hearts, our fans, and will continue to love very much in that game.”
The messages of mourning are flooded in Hyde and social media platforms after confirmation of his death outside Haton’s residence. Heton – Under the circumstances around the Hatersley Council Estate, in a public house, they were found at their end, although the police confirmed that there were no suspicious circumstances.
