The designer said, “Forest’s design symbolizes a common passion between Rodrigo and me – to connect people with nature through sensory experience.”

Instead of taking the expected context from nature, like green color and wood surface-they opted for a future design, which uses fluid, aquatic forms to represent a forward-thinking approach to durable dishes.

While most food preparations are made behind the house, cooking and platings are in the main food place to see some guests.

A series of sculpture islands with Tungurahua volcanic stone -carved round sides and counters offer a platform for these activities, and include a main kitchen, a cool kitchen, a service station and an area to sit.

The mechanisms specially designed under the stone allow the chef to grill, abscess, steam and fry directly on the counter surface.

Dinner has to pass these islands to reach its tables at the other end of the rectangular place, increasing their conspiracy before sitting.

The roof is also designed to highlight the specified areas, which provided another black form light and extraction above the main kitchen, and a replied metallic relief at the center.

“The reflective roof allows the space to customize and replace the whole day, capture the ever changing game of light,” Escudero said.

He said, “This dynamic quality reflects Andian Cosmovision, where the relationship between the gods and the earth is depicted by trees – our roots in the natural world,” he said.

Cove lighting is installed under each island, as well as around the roof and floor junctions along the walls of concrete-effects.
