I don’t think I have ever felt so nervous rock climbing as I did this week. The reason for this was not really thirty meters of air under my feet because I was hanging on the rope, taking a picture of a mountaineer under me. The camera with which I was shooting with the shivering shivering my spine and was with the fact that I was responsible for it “with my life.” I would have to accept, I took a big breath of relief when I finally returned to the ground with Leica SL3, yet safely in my hands safely. You will soon be able to read my full views on shooting with this unusual camera. For now, let me share a picture from tomorrow’s climb – and of course, the latest news from the world of photography.
Recent announcements
- DJI Mike 3: Compact (only 16 g for transmitter) wireless microphone not only for DJI cameras. The cameras within the DJI ecosystem can be connected directly without a receiver, while other cameras or mobile phones use 3.5 mm audio cable or USB-C adapter. A larger jump compared to the previous DJI MIC has the ability to add 4 transmitters and 8 receivers simultaneously. In other words, 4 audio sources can be recorded simultaneously on a total of 8 cameras. Facilities include 32-bit float audio recording, 32 GB internal storage and integrated Timekode. Battery life with charging case: up to 28 hours. Price for standard kit (2 transmitter + 1 receiver + case): $ 329,
- Astroori 6mm F2.8 Circular Fish Lens: Views with a huge 220-degree angle with a huge manual 340g full-frame lens, produce heavy deformed circular images with black edges. Inside its metal barrels, an optical design of 10 elements seats an optical design of 10 elements in 8 groups (including 4 high refractors and 2 low spreads). As a complete manual lens, it has no electronic contact for metadata transfer. Its 8-blade aperture is controlled by one click ring. The minimum focus distance is just 0.08 meters – just a few millimeters from the front element. Filters are not supported. Sony E, Nikon Z, Canon RF, and E are available for L. Mount. Price: $ 299.
- Prograde Digital 16TB PG10 USB4: The existing PG10 series, which included SSDs with the first 2TB, 4TB and 8TB capabilities, is now a huge 16GB of brother -in -law. Max Reid/Right Speed: 2500 MB/S (Write continuously: 2000 MB/S). A power-sensing LED confirms that the drive is receiving the required 15W. Refresh Pro Software enables health monitoring, performance restoration and firmware updates. This is probably overcome for most photographers, but if you are recording raw videos in 8K, no drive is quite large. However, the price of this SSD is also large: $ 3,000,

Nikon Zr: Nikon’s first video-oriented camera?
Rumors suggest that we can see a big announcement from Nikon soon till 10 September. After acquiring Red and releasing its first video-oriented lens, Nikon Z 28–135 mm F/4 PZ, Nikon has been designed to make its first True video-centric camera. (Earlier this year, red cameras adopted Nikon Z Mount. A good development, but red cameras are still highly specialized, expensive equipment that all have been developed before the merger.)
The rumor Nikon camera is said to be based on the Z6 III, but only its sensor is borrowed. Expect a brick-shaped design, without paintoprism or EVF, and with a large rear LCD-between a red and a Nikon Z 30.

Leica M11-V: Still focusing in question
Rumors about a leaka M11 version with an electronic viewfinder instead of a traditional rangefinder have been floating around for some time. The latest rumors suggest that the “V” version will not have a rangefinder window. Instead, the possibility of focusing patch has to be simulated electronically. The frame selector lever, which is said to have “dual functioning for viewfinder”, can play a role in it. Another option to concentrate, of course, is to use focus pecking to increase the part of the area throughout the visualist (for example, with Leica Q3). However, both options seem to be one step backward compared to me time-testing rangefinder method. I am eager to see whether the solution will finally come out.

New Zoom from China: Small Range, Big Motion
An anonymous Chinese lens manufacturer is reportedly preparing a very unusual lens: a 35–50 mm zoom with a continuous F/1.4 aperture. The most impressive zoom range is not, but the speed is extraordinary. In fact, it may not even be a “real” zoom – packed in a body like two lenses (35 mm and 50 mm). Mysterious producers are probably a new member of the L-Mount alliance from 1 September. And rumors also say that it will have autofocus.

Good deals and new sales
B&H is currently running Labor day dealWhat did my eye catch?
From the world of memory card, some discounts on the hard range of Soni. Although they are not the fastest or cheapest card in the market, I have not heard any reports that will raise doubts on their credibility and durability. So it seems that they are really “hard”.

CFEXPRESS Type B
Samsung SSD also enjoy a solid reputation for credibility. Of course, there are rapid options (see above), but some drives receive several five -star reviews.
And after summer of “days of photography”, perhaps it is time for some “labor days” on the editing desk. A good mouse and keyboard can be much more enjoyable on the computer for a long time. Most of mine is accompanied by writing and photo editing Logitech MX Keys Wireless Keyboard ($ 130, now $ 120) and Loditech MX Master 3S Wireless Mouse ($ 120, now $ 110).

Nikon has released a major firmware update for Z6 III. Between many reforms and reforms, two stand for me. First, the theme recognition for autofocus is refined: “birds” are now a separate category from comprehensive “animals”. I hope that this will improve both speed and reliability for wildlife shooters. Second, Auto capture The function (exclusive for first Z8 and Z9) is now available in more affordable cameras for the first time. After all, not everyone wants to leave a camera of more than $ 5,000. You can find a complete list of improvement Nikon USA website Or Nikon Europe’s YouTube channel,
The winners of the prestigious wildlife photographer of the year 2025 competition will not be announced till 14 October. However, you can Preview the selection of 15 images from the 61st edition Now. A striking shot looks to show an wasp on a stem, but a close eye shows that it is a flying potter wasp that takes a imprisoned caterpillar to feed his youth. Another powerful image, by the acclaimed photographer Marina Cano, shows the three young cheetahs practicing a hunting on a dick-dick of a dick. My personal favorite is an almost monochrome picture of an arctic wolf pack, which keeps you right “inside the pack”. If the exhibition tour with the competition comes to you, I recommend excessive travel.
Last week, I read an attractive article about a person named Jenk Bedenic, who fulfilled a lifetime dream – which was flying with Giz. He picked up his flock from the eggs, became his bearded adopted mother, spending almost every moment with him until he became independent and joined the wild geese. Geese learned a lot from him, but perhaps he learned even more from him. In the article, the breathtaking photos were with wooing, and I knew that I had to share the story of this unusual person with you. Incidentally, I met Jenak in a person yesterday, near the rocks where I was climbing. What started as a chance encounter is changing more than a link to its website, Husopas.czI will not spoil the details yet, but trust me, you want to remain.
