Who actually pays tariffs?
A common misunderstanding is that foreign countries pay tariffs imposed by the US government. In fact, when goods arrive at American ports, they are held up to the importing company – often implements a domestic business – the required tariffs. This means that financial burden falls directly on American importers, not exports on foreign institutions. And of course, high cost of goods means that high retail prices after these products hit the shelves.
Domestic manufacturing challenge
The logic behind the implementation of tariffs is to make imported goods more expensive, encouraging companies to manufacture products domestically. However, it is much more difficult than it seems. In many examples, infrastructure or expertise is not present in the US to produce some objects, it may take years to exclude these factories, if not decades. Will tariffs that almost all agree, will not be sufficient for an incentive for businesses for the risk of spending billions of dollars required for reconstruction of manufacturing?
How much does it cost to make it in America?
I have tried to produce many products in the United States and it has failed each time. Factories are not only present here, but some who charge a much higher fee than working with a factory abroad. In my experience, the cost of manufacturing in the United States is 8 to 12 times higher, compared to being produced in another country and has been sent. This means that the tariff needs to reach 800%, before it becomes cheaper to make a product in the US. This is certainly not possible, as consumers will never buy products for 8X value, and at those rates, businesses and products will not be present.
Also it is important to remember that, “Made in America” products are still made with foreign materials using foreign-made machines. Blanket tariffs will hit every business and factory for decades, even if they are constructing products locally.

Some comments on my video said that I made my hot sauce bottles in China and sold it to my country. They fail to feel that every hot sauce bottle in America is already made in China.

The photography industry is particularly affected by these tariffs, as many camera manufacturers produce equipment in high duties facing high duties:

I would like to be able to manufacture easily and affordable products in the United States. Supporters of these tariffs feel that it is correct around the corner. I hope they are right.
