OpenAI releases its text-to-video artificial intelligence The model, Sora, following the completion of its testing phase this week.
Microsoft backed AI startup The model was first teased in February and on Monday it was introduced to Chaptgpt Pro and Plus users at no extra charge, with X saying it was the company’s “holiday gift” to customers.
OpenAI said in a blog post that Sora, which creates video from text, will be available in early 2025 at a price optimized for a variety of users.
Users will be able to generate videos up to 20 seconds long and in widescreen, vertical or square aspect ratios at up to 1080-pixel resolution.

OpenAI said that while Sora will not be available in the EU’s Switzerland and the UK yet, the AI model will be available in other regions where chatgpt Is present.
The company also said it would stop the creation and upload of harmful forms of content, such as child sexual abuse material and sexual deepfakes, on Sora to prevent its abuse.

“People’s uploads will be limited at launch, but we intend to expand this feature to more users as we refine our deepfake mitigation,” it added.
