I want to talk about being pregnant while shooting season one of the show. My first question is how? As far as I know, no one has escaped the extreme fatigue of the first trimester. Did you have that? How did you behave?
I actually got the job when I was in my first trimester, and then I started the job right at the end of my first trimester. It was literally divine intervention, because, yes, I felt like I was suffering from mono during my first trimester.
I couldn’t get up. It was very, very tiring. I was really lucky that it started and then I was in that wonderful kind of rejuvenating second trimester. Like a renaissance moment. You say, “I can do anything.” It was a very different experience from what I was experiencing a month ago. I had good luck.
Morgan, let’s talk about your character’s style on the show. I wonder if there are any costumes that you particularly enjoy wearing or that you feel like the public has reacted to strongly about?
I had the most fun with this bomber jacket Which I will wear with a short skirt. It was definitely in response to my growing belly that they said, “Let’s dress her in a bomber jacket,” but there’s something really cool about a big jacket and legs. tights On them.
I’ve never done this in my daily life, and now I say, “Okay, I’m in.” It has increased. Before they even found out I was pregnant, they had gone out and collected all this stuff in a big wardrobe that I was going to wear. It was really a clear character that they created with these costumes. Then I got pregnant – or I was pregnant – and I told them, because I was out of my first trimester and it wasn’t such a vulnerable thing to share.
They did a great job of keeping the essence of the character alive in these new costumes, which were a little more, I think, conservative, or a little more covered up. Because Morgan, you know, in the first round there was a lot mini skirt And little tanks that showed off my tummy, and they did a great job of keeping that vibe alive.
I wanted to draw attention to an IRL fashion moment you saw recently at the Emmys. You wore Wes Gordon’s Carolina Herrera dress, and I’m curious how you chose it; How did it come to life?
I saw a picture of it on the runway. Rebecca RamseyMy stylist sent me a picture of it a while ago, right after it walked down the runway. I had the exact same reaction as you. I said, “Oh, wow. It’s beautiful.” Then I sent it to my publicists, and they also said, “Wow, wow, wow, holy smokes, this is beautiful.” It didn’t really come back. It was on our radar. When the Emmys came around, we were like, “Well, how about asking about it?” Like, can we see if we can get it? It feels like a champagne glass in a costume. It’s very fancy and happy and celebratory and sexy. When they said they were going to send it, I was ecstatic. So excited.
