NASCAR Clash: The Wild History of the Boman Gray “Madhouse”

Welcome to Boman Gray Stadium, aka the Madhouse, The New Home of the Clash, NASCAR’s Presiden Tune-Up. Drivers will need to give up their racing etiquette and good etiquette at the door, as there is no place on this small, nuisance track – one that has not seen a cup race in more than half a century. It is a Motorsports equal to a Mad Max film, and this fury road does not take any prisoner.

Add only the format of the one-week of the clash-Saturday-qualifying and heat race in the main event of the Sunday-and you have found a recipe for chaos. But this will be happening on the holiday ground, with a history, which makes the action more luxurious.

And all this starts with a mozart concert.

Birth of Boman Gray Stadium

Boman Gray was never built at the house of a quarter-meal race track. It was built in 1937, deep into the Great Depression, and recently nominated for the Executive of the deceased RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company (welcome in North Carolina). The main objective of the football stadium was, as well as boxing matches and classical music performance; It was nominated with a local Mozart Club Concert.

Wolfgang Lacrimosa Since the Rambling race cars seem like a perfect match to the soundtrack, but auto racing did not actually come to Boman Gray until 1947, when an asphalt track was placed on the outskirts of the football ground. The promoter left the city holding the bill to Winston-Salem.

When NASCAR’s founder Bill France Senior and Alvin Hawkins stepped. France suspicious of the project, but did not have to release Hawkins. Boman Gray held a weekly race and until 1958, the NASCAR Cup series arrived. The stadium was on a cup schedule for the next 13 years, Bobby Elisen won the 29th and final race – Even if it took him 53 years to officially credits with victory.,

Earning the title of “Madhouse” of Racing

NASCAR may have left after 1971, but this does not mean that the track in Boman gray increased mourning. Regional NASCAR and many other divisions have replaced laps in the coming decades-and it was discovered that the quarter-meal is a special penchet for the disaster in the oval.

It may be tight. Perhaps this is a ground level environment. It may be that it is the types of drivers who bring Boman into Gray, are ready to wrestle for pride and a little more. But very early, the stadium is known as a madhouse, and the name got stuck.

Grass inflammptu demolishan hosts the derabees, as the picked-of drivers chase each other across the track. Race winners have been punched in the intestine, trying to collect the winner’s trophy. An angry driver once dragged around the track clung to the edge of a rival’s car. A person dodged an entire bucket of dry rapidly, landing a straight hit on a motion car. These days, anarchy goes viral on social media.

The police is always on standby, and is busy. Madhouse is present outside the time – and loves it.

What are nascar drivers

NASCAR’s reunion with Boman gray means wears some upgrade for track clash: soft walls, modern lighting, a careful landscape lawn. But it is still the same madhouse under good clothes.

It is also new to many polished stars of the cup series, which may not be ready for the coming time when the summer race on Saturday. There is no place for error, and not to hide (on track or closed). Strained in an eye directly, and a lap takes less than 15 seconds. Creating contact is the fastest way to create a position on the flat track of a drain-and there is no escape, with a continuous stream of traffic around every corner of 25-mile speedway.

Tempers erupt rapidly due to drivers being wild. The conflict can just be an exhibition race, but it will not look like this for drivers battling for a shot in Sunday’s main event.

Critics like to complain that Boman gray is unrefined and uncontrolled; How to take risks and a house for rafnex who want to defeat another man, without any care.

But for the early days of The Madhouse NASCAR there is still a living monument-to see a crocodile and feel that it spent time in the swamp. The legends of the game were forged inside its experienced wallsThe audience became the dying fan-and much more. Richard Children, owner of the Hall of Fame NASCAR, sold peanuts in Grandstand as a small child.

Compared to the last three years of the hosted clash hosted in Los Angeles, this weekend race in Boman Gray will feel like a bizarre world. There will not be some megastars hosting the HalfTime concert, but a hell of a show will be almost certain for the crowds sold. Hope someone plays a little mozart, though.
