Designers are all about the purchase of their own backyard, or forging, especially during the summer season, when so many incredible plants bloom. Laur Nail Interiors founder Letitia Laurent explains that forging is a beautiful way to bring nature indoors and how she prefers to slow down customers and encourage them to engage with their surroundings.
“It adds a layer of meaning and imperfection that feels grounding and authentic,” says Laurent. “The most striking elements are often accompanied by a small twist, lichin, or tenderness that remind you that they came from real.”
Here, interior designers speak to foster and decorate five of their favorite items to prepare their homes during and then during summer. You would like to be sure to be in search of these pieces as shopping for your own backyard.
Branches

Laurent enjoys forging for branches with character and appreciates decorating with a wide range of species.
“Whether it is citrus, olive, or something slightly wild and uncontrolled, a single sculpture branch in a large vessel can make a dramatic, elevated statement,” she says. “Asymmetry and movements add to the spirit of life that there is a lack of stores-finished stems.”
In addition, branches add a welcome height to any room, helping the eye to pull upwards and add visual dimensions immediately.

Dry grass

Dry grasses are a favorite of Laurent because the cooler’s weather begins to be an approach. She moves towards dry palm fronts, wild grasses, and more.
“They add texture and an organic, sculpture quality to shelves or mantle,” she says.

Bold leaves
Carla Royder, the founder of Carla Rayer Designs & Company, is all about decorating with large and bold leaves – their top pics include magnolia, ferns or palm froles.
“These children are the plays of the plant world,” she says.

Herbs
