NYT Connections Today (Game #574) – Answers
The answers to today’s Connections, game #574 are…
- Yellow: barely stir calm, peaceful, sleepy, slow
- Green: earn gross, production, net, yield
- Blue: remote control function Home, Mute, Stop, Volume
- Purple: words before “drum” ears, kettle, oil, net
- my rating: Easy
- my score: 1 mistake
A very rare connection for me today, the first group I found was a purple collection of words before “drums”. I got there after a mistake; I initially thought EAR was linked to VOLUME and MUTE, both of which turned out to be remote control functions.
“Mute” is a kind of remote control function that I only realize when I accidentally press it – usually while sitting on it and usually at some crucial moment in the final episode of some tense drama – and I have to turn it off. For this you have to scan the buttons. I face similar problems with Netflix, I think I’m watching with subtitles because I’m discreet and don’t want to bother anyone, but really I’m watching with subtitles because I miss. Don’t know how to turn it off subtitles.

What is NYT Connections?
NYT Connections is one of several increasingly popular word games created by the New York Times. It challenges you to find groups of four objects that have something in common, and each group has a different difficulty level: green is easy, yellow is a little harder, blue is often quite difficult and purple is usually very difficult. Is.
On the positive side, you technically don’t need to solve the last question, as you will be able to answer it by process of elimination. Additionally, you can make a maximum of four mistakes, which gives you some breathing room.
However, it’s a bit more involved than something like Wordle, and the game has plenty of opportunities to trick you with tricks. For example, be careful of homophones and other word games that may hide answers.
It can be played for free through NYT Games Site On desktop or mobile.
