As the storm moved toward the Mid-Atlantic region on Monday, more than a dozen states from Kansas and Missouri new Jersey Were under winter storm warnings and advisories.

“In locations across the region that receive the most snowfall, this could be the heaviest snowfall in at least a decade,” the National Weather Service said.
At least 18 inches of snow fell along I-70 in Kansas, while parts of upstate New York reported several feet of snow, the NWS said.

Washington DC Mayor Muriel Bowser declared a snow emergency Tuesday until at least the end of the day, while Maryland Governor Wes Moore declared a state of emergency and warned residents to avoid travel.
