Monse Pre-Fall 2025 Collection

In September, at the Monse Spring 2025 show, football-shaped bags were blink and you missed them. For Pre-Fall, Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia continued the story, bringing back a print from their third collection from eight years ago, cleverly mixing vintage-looking depictions of football players with florals. Kim explained, “We liked it, but we didn’t really push it that far that season.” “Personally I love this print, because it’s a little masculine and feminine, like our brand.” The same masculine/feminine energy was reflected in their use: airy silk scarves on slip dresses, and more cleverly printed on boxy men’s striped button-downs. “I can actually order it,” Garcia said.

Elsewhere, the duo introduced softer versions of their signature deconstructed tailoring, and their two-for-one pieces included a trench coat with a built-in draped crochet blanket and elastic waist trousers with applique “jeans” down the front. There was also a surprise hidden in the matching twinset knit, the sweaters that draped over the shoulders were not actually sweaters or cardigans, but rather flat pieces made to drape over the shoulders – without the added burden of volume or buttons. The collection included scarf going-out tops (the millennial generation will remember these well), to which the designers added a bustier underneath for extra support. “It’s a more sophisticated, gone-out top,” Kim said.
