Google’s Mandient Threat Defense Group has identified a campaign, which has been tracked as UnC6032, which “makes interest around AI tool weapons” – especially the equipment used to generate videos based on user signals.
Compulsory expert Identified Thousands of postings of fake “AI video generators” websites that actually distribute malware, which has led to payload, “such as python-based infosellers and many backdoor.”
The campaign looks at a legitimate AI generator tool such as Canva Dream Lab, Luma AI, and Kling AI to drive the victims, which have collectively reached “millions of users” in both LinkedIn and Facebook – although Google can also target similar campaigns on many different platforms.
Group, UNC6032, is considered to be related to Vietnam, but the European Union’s transparency rules allowed researchers to see that a sample of 120 malicious advertisements had a total access to more than 2.3 million users – although it does not necessarily translate to many victims.
“Although our investigation was limited in the realm, we found that well -formulated fake” AI websites “pose a significant threat to both organizations and individual users,” researchers confirmed.
“These AI tools no longer target only graphic designers; anyone seems to be lured by harmless advertising. The temptation to try the latest AI equipment can motivate anyone to suffer. We advise users to take care to take care of being attached to the AI tool and to verify the validity of the website.”
