Microsoft has begun to test a change on how Xbox controllers operate on Windows 11. The change will allow the Xbox controller to easily access the task scene on Windows 11 between apps and games using the Xbox button.
Microsoft explains, “A new change that we are offering, when you press the Xbox button for a long time, this task will open the scene,” Microsoft tells Windows Insider Team“The Xbox button continues to press and catch the game controller.”
Changes that are working for microsoft will align Xbox controllers Handheld Gaming PC with Windows 11The upcoming Xbox collaborative devices will have an Xbox button, which opens a handheld-friendly task switcher with a long press. Microsoft has held the task switcher on the handheld, so it has new animations, and it is not clear whether this same interface will come in all Windows 11 Gaming PCs.
You can already use a press of Xbox button on a handheld or controller to open the game bar in Windows 11, and use widgets, games and performance information. Microsoft has started testing this change with Windows Indersers in the DEV channel, so they should be available to all Windows 11 users in the coming months.
