A signed passport photo of Marilyn Munro, the day she and her new husband, baseball legend, Dimagio, who was preparing for his 1954 honeymoon for his 1954 honeymoon, sold more than $ 21,000 in the auction.

According to the RR auction, the story behind the photo begins on January 29, 1954, which is widely promoted by Munro and Dimagio, two weeks after the wedding, when the couple visited the Federal Building in San Francisco, to get a passport for their upcoming visit to Japan. The journey, which was part of the couple’s honeymoon, will mix work and holiday. Monroe was designed to perform for American troops in Korea in February, while Dimagio planned to meet with Japanese baseball teams during spring training. But the passport process hit an obstacle when the authorities discovered that Munro did not have the necessary passport photo.
From 1936 to 1951, Dimagio, known for his 13 -year career with New York Yankis, quickly came up with a solution. The baseball star left Munro to continue the paperwork and reached a market street arcade with a picture of him. He returned with a set of passport photos after about 30 minutes and one by Passport Officer Harry E. Gave to Bolds – whose name is written on the photo. While this picture was not used in Monroe’s actual passport, it appears that Dimagio developed one of the prints that developed on the basis of name and matching image.
For Monroe, the moment behind this passport photo marked a rare period of stability and a brief sense of the house. He also listed Dimagio as his emergency contact, underlining him the trust. The address he provided, “2150 Beach Street,” was Dimagio’s home in San Francisco, where the couple were living. The signed photo is particularly notable for the characteristic of Star’s legal married name, “Norma Jean Dimagio”, which she used until she used to separate from the subsequent demagio.
