“Gong Girl” all grew up. Mark Gong’s fall 2025 collection today received the first full day of Shanghai Fashion Week. We noticed that there would be no viral runway stunts, and the clothes were definitely more mature-there were almost no cargo pants in the vision, even if he could not stay away from a party corset or two.
Everyone said, his presentation was no less entertaining by turning a new leaf of Gong. He rowed his set with mirrors to reflect his strobe lights and covered the floor with copies of “The Markgong News”, a satirical tabloid. He documented his “Gong Girls” Coming and Going, which was withdrawing the 1000s celebrities rags. Backstage they examined the names, which were named It-Girls and Paprazi Catnip Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan and Kim Kardashian as references. (The current passion of fashion with newspapers has made its way to Shanghai after showing in London and Paris.)
He said, “We (wearing clothes) quickly to good celebrities, so in this season we thought of looking at IT-girls, which actually impresses many of us,” he explained. Gong has recently linked Rihanna, Sabrina Carpenter, Dose Cat, and Olivia Rodrigo to the 2025 Oscars, among others. Instead of remakeing some Y2K staples of Hilton et al. Then worn back (“I hate the word!” He just quipped on the suggestion), Gong considered his wardrobe, and women in more detail. The only straightforward reference was a slogan in which it was read “I Love Mark Gong, Money and Boys,”, who would appreciate his fans.
“People called them bad girls because they ran away or were drunk,” or because a sex tape or two were involved, Gong reflected, “but now look at them, they are innocent!” He continued, referring to Lohan’s return and successful lobbying of Hilton in the US Congress. Culture now looks at these women with more fine eyes, and Gong is part of the generation that owns this approach: “We are not trying to tell ‘Gong girls’ whether they have to be ‘good’ or they cannot do it or they can just be themselves.”
The show began with a dresser-to-normal segment by Gong’s standards: Lisa looked like Lisa’s long jacket and runway versions of the shirt dress for match with a black fringe coat and Ponchose trousers and skirts. From there, he became loose, revealing a well -round cupboard offer that demonstrated a new maturity. Tailoring was a special standout. For his credit, he balanced his vertical high stylatto boots and micro shorts with everyday cardigans and comfort, room slacks.
Many times the show styling bent over other brands of other brands-a colleague compared the work of the match-based, Canadian pair. Gong does not need to rely on such trops, he is creating his vision, as he is building his vision as a designer on the SHFW calendar. After his Academy Awards with Lisa, Gong took some of his models to the Oscar Statue. This is a well-earned boast or some future expression, one thing is certain-the sign has set its places on big things, and the ambition to reach there.
