Anthony Gordon urges journalists to let him enjoy his football newcastle,
The winger has often been linked with a move away from the Magpies.
“I’ve thought a lot about my future this year, where I’m going, where I want to go – without anyone asking,” Gordon told Sky Sports.
“It’s all a bit… just leave me to play football! I just want to be happy (and) play football. I love living here, I’ve said it many times. With speculation, people assume it’s all true, whereas you haven’t heard from me even once that I’m unhappy at this place.
“I love everyone here, I love playing football here. that was it.”
Gordon believes the speculation has also affected his performance, adding: It (has) frustrated me. It has taken me away from enjoying football. That’s where the inconsistency comes from because I’m a little bit caught up (in speculation).
“I just want to play football, especially for newcastleWe are only human, I am only 23 years old. All I hear is, ‘When is he leaving?’. Who said I was ever going to leave?
“I am very, very happy here. I like playing football here. Alex (Isaac) and Bruno (Guimares) probably think the same thing. We’re all young and we’re all human, so if people talk about it and it makes us question our character, that’s tough.
