Malcom will take over as Vice President of FIA for Sport after one vote at the FIA’s extraordinary General Assembly at Wilson Macau.
Wilson was FIA President Mohammad Ben Sulem enrolled for taking posts in April After Robert Reid, 2001 World Rally Championship cum-Champion, Role resigned in FIA citing ‘Standards Breakdown’,
The FIA today confirmed that an overwhelming majority of voters was in favor of choosing Wilson in a position.
Wilson is a prominent person in the British Motorsport and has large hitters in the rally world as both a driver and entrepreneur. His long relationship with Ford crown him in the 1994 British rally championship.
Wilson has also established an M-Sport operation which has run Ford’s World Rally program since 1997. The team won the WRC title for manufacturers in 2006, 2007 and 2017.
The M-Sport later launched the Continental GT3 racing program of Bentley, which won 2020 in 12 hours, and supplied the TOCA engine to the British Touring Car Championship since 2022.

Wilson was awarded the order of the British Empire in the HM the Queen Birthday Honors list in 2009 for services for motorsports.
Wilson said, “I am happy to play the role of FIA Vice President for the game.”
“As the Federation proceeds with its mission to pursue motorcyts and develop a grassroots initiative, I am eager to play a role to work with the President to increase and strengthen my championships and help to help shape the future of the game working with the President.”
FIA President, Mohammad Ben Sulem said: “The Vice President’s role for the game is absolutely integral to our organization, and one that brings a treasure of experience for Malcolm Wilson.
“After competing for more than 40 years at the highest level, both as a driver and technical partner for teams, their expertise will be invaluable to the FIA and our member organizations.
“I am eager to welcome Malcolm at the Federation and to work with them to grow motorcyts at all levels.”
