Lotterer believes he still has one more Le Mans win left in him as he enters the final stages of his career.

“If I didn’t think I could do it, I wouldn’t have gone for this challenge,” he said. “This is the ideal scenario, but we all know it will not be easy.

Lotterer confirmed that he was in talks to extend his tenure with Porsche, as he was not retained for the WEC Hypercar squad at the conclusion of his contract.

“I was thinking, as a Porsche fan, we could grow old together, but when we talked together about what they could offer it didn’t excite me, not like the Genesis Project.”
