Text details provided by architects. Located on the outskirts of Santiago, in a high -temperature region, Casa Con Luorna was designed to remain calm through passive strategies, reducing the need for air conditioning. The design approach focuses on the integration of the courtyard and gardens, which not only serve as a natural dividers between different areas – such as public places, children’s bedrooms, guest rooms and main suits – but also contribute to home ventilation and thermal regulation.
To prevent overheating, courtyards act as cooling zones that promote air circulation. Additionally, a deep semi-transformed overhang was included, allowing natural light to be allowed to enter indoor thermal comfortable compromise. While the house appears mainly in a horizontal plane, a large south-facing skylight disrupts this linearity, which introduces natural lighting in living, food and kitchen areas. This architectural element not only enhances internal lights, but also serves as a major creative feature in the overall design. To improve steel and improve ventilation, raised 20 cm above the ground, the house also includes structural slabs that increase the sounds and strengthen the feeling of perseverance. In search of efficiency and reduction in cost, construction elements were given dimensions within standard commercial measurements.
The fronts of the south and east were designed with strategic loors: in the east, to reduce the effects of the afternoon, and in the south, to provide privacy for service areas such as bathrooms and laundry rooms. A house can not only be settled, but is designed to maximize natural light and ventilation, but to connect with your environment.
