Throughout the year and some painful non-finishes have been taken, but George Lepley and Dafid Evans finally achieved their Mitsubishi Galent VR4 for the end of a round of the British historic rally championship and duly won the Tracade Historic Cup for more than half a minute.
For the sixth and final round of the season, it was back on the gravel of magnificent Yorkshire stages such as Dalbie and Gayle Rig. In particular, in the darkness of Friday, there was a large awake call in Dulby at a distance of 11 miles, and the lepley emerged with a lead that they took all the way to finish back into the file.
The gallant broke three times in the initial season, but this time all of it was hanged together and the talented Leple did the rest. “It’s great to finish at the end,” Leple said. He said, “A lot of hard work has been done to reach here.” Of course, Baz Jordan’s sister car enjoyed a lot of credibility and won the overall BHRC title with a round to run.
In the context of the two-wheel drive competition, Matt Edwards and Sion Williams scored an initial run in Richard Jordan’s car that Edwards would use Roger Albert Clarke rally in November. Although he did not rail an escort MK2 on the gravel for a decade, Edwards quickly returned to the drain and gave a strong performance.

The third was enough to confirm Dan Menel and John Roberts back from Edwards as BHRC category 3 champions in their escort MK2. The local charger managed to contest the event with the best man in a wedding a few miles away and was an absolute ball in the forests where he grew up seeing the rally cars.
Ben Friends and Cliff Semans could not repeat the victory of the previous year, but were a strong fourth, while another impressive performance came from the local people from Matt Strawd and Josh Carr, who experienced a lack of experience to finish fifth in Strawud’s Escort MK 2.
The winners of the notable category included Tim Pierce and Andy Bosvel who took Category 2 in their Ford Escort MK1, while Ed Abbott and Tom Bishop claimed a class 2 -square win in their brilliant but unusual Jaguar XJS.
