Kohler unveils a digital camera in your rest room techcrunch

Home goods maker Kohler recently unveiled a new device called Decoda — a $599 camera that can be attached to your toilet bowl and take pictures of the inside.

CNET report Decoda analyzes these images to provide updates on your gut’s health and hydration, and potentially detect blood. It comes with a rechargeable battery, a USB connection, and a fingerprint sensor that identifies who is using the toilet.

decode is Currently available for pre-order Shipments are scheduled to begin October 21st. In addition to the {hardware} buy fee, clients should pay between $70 and $156 for the subscription.

If you’re uneasy about the privacy implications of placing a camera right below your private parts, the company says, “Dekoda’s sensors only see into your toilet and nowhere else.” It also notes that the resulting data is secured through end-to-end encryption.
