Considering the idea that water is a focal point on this property, the type of room (and you pay) in large parts, hinges on the type of pool (or not) with your habitat.

I booked a property deluxe swim-up room, which was difficult to beat. The special rate included breakfast as part of the inauguration of the property and came in an all-in 346 euros (about $ 405) per night.

The star of the entire location so far, however, was a private infinite pool outside the sliding glass door. The pool had enough space for two guests (and perhaps some children, too,).

The courtyard/pool deck came with a dining table and two padded lounge chairs, as well as the housekeeping with the towel of the beach, which kept filling up again throughout the stay.

Next door, Fai is advertised on the Marriott app as the “main restaurant” for the property, but during my visit, it simply offered a huge breakfast buffet, which combines American and Mediterranean tastes. Property-wide, I found that the dishes were well prepared, fresh and full of local taste, even many places were still getting their rungs on service as the resort ramped its guest count.

Facilities

Location and Logistics

This new JW Marriott property sits on the northern coast of the Crete on the western shore of the Greek island.
