“You need to have consistency throughout the team. It gives confidence to everyone and the drivers. So I hope that doesn’t happen next year. I hope they see the whole year together, because there is going to be a lot of change for the first race, but there is also going to be a lot of change for the 24th race next year.
“A lot is going to change throughout the year. So it’s a great team, and I think the leadership is really good, and you won’t find a better driver line-up than that, no?”

He added, “This is not the season he expected. Obviously, Lewis was going to Ferrari, expecting big things in 2025, and as a driver you always think you can make the difference. But in this sport, you are up against the best.
“So, it hasn’t been the best, but it hasn’t been terrible either. They’re not constantly fighting the McLarens, but no one is fighting either. The only other person who really has, on a few occasions, is a guy, max verstappen,
Before the Canadian Grand Prix rumors began to spread that team principal Fred Vasseur was in danger of losing his job, with the Frenchman speaking out to firmly shut down these speculations.
Vasseur said at the time, “I guess it’s not about me, because I can manage it.” “It’s more about the people on the team; I think it’s disrespectful to (their) families. We had the case with the head of Aero just last year.”
He continued, “I don’t know the goal. I don’t understand the goal. Maybe it’s to betray the team. But in this case, I don’t see any point. Maybe it’s the only way for them to survive. Maybe that’s more the reason, but it’s really hurting the team.
“On one level, it’s a lack of focus, and when you’re fighting for the championship, every single detail makes the difference. And from the beginning of the weekend, we’ve just been talking about that.
“If that’s their goal to get the team in this position, then they reached their goal. But I think it’s not likely that we’ll win a championship, at least not with this kind of press around us.”
